The daily Covid-19 cases in Thailand hits a new record on Saturday.
According to the latest figures from the Public Health Ministry, a total of 18,912 new cases were recorded in the kingdom over the past 24 hours, raising the total tally to 597,287.
There were 18,102 new cases in the general population and 810 new cases among convicts.
At least 178 more people died, taking the death toll to 4,857, while recoveries increased by 10, 750 to reach 391, 920, the data showed.
With 64 deaths, Bangkok remained the city with the highest number of fatalities, followed by Samut Prakan (20).
Other provinces with single-digit fatalities include: Nakhon Pathom (9), Nonthaburi (9), Pathum Thani (8), Pattani (7), Chon Buri (6), Nakhon Nayok (6), Samut Sakhon (4), Yala (3), Sa Kaeo (3), Saraburi (3), Phetchaburi (3), and Suphan Buri (3).
Bangkok leads in the number of daily Covid cases, at 3,668, followed by Samut Sakhon (1,178), Chon Buri (1,062), Samut Prakan (872), Rayong (670), Nonthaburi (577), Nakhon Pathom (538), Chachoengsao (437), Si Sa Ket (368) and Pathum Thani (351).

Meanwhile, on Friday, July 30, Thailand recorded the following Covid-19 data:
- New cases: 17,345
- Total cases: 578,345
- New deaths: 117
- Total deaths: 4,679
- Total Recoveries: 381,170
On Friday, hospitals were treating 200,510 patients with Covid-19, with 4,691 extremely ill and 1,032 on ventilators, Bangkok Post reported.
