PHILIPPINES. One Repatriation Command Center, a project by the newly created Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), is set to launch this week.
The One Repatriation Command Center will provide assistance for speedy repatriation of stranded OFWs or shipment of remains in cases of death.
“Isa na lang ang dudulugan ng mga pamilya ng OFWs para sa shipment of remains, para sa repatriation of stranded or exploited OFWs. And kami na rin mismo ang tatawag sa mga pamilya,” DMW secretary Susan “Toots” Ople said.

Meanwhile, at least six agencies from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will now be part of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) following Republic Act (RA) No. 11641, creating the new department dedicated to overseeing the welfare of millions of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
These agencies include:
- Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA)
- Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLOs)
- International Labor Affairs Bureau (ILAB)
- National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO)
- Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA, as an attached agency)
- National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP, as an attached agency)
However, in countries or territories that do not have an assigned POLO, the DFA will still take charge of helping distressed OFWs.
