PHILIPPINES. The new school year 2022-2023 is set to commence on Monday, August 22, and will end on July 7, 2023, the Department of Education (DepEd) announced.
The department shared on its Facebook page Department Order No. 34, signed by Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte. The order outlines the school calendar and activities for the new school year.
“The School Year 2022-2023 shall formally start on Monday, August 22, 2022, and end on Friday, July 7, 2023.” “There shall be a total of 203 days or as may be determined by further issuance/s in case of changes in the school calendar due to unforeseen circumstances,” the order stated.
The enrollment period will begin on July 25 and end on August 22, while Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela will be conducted on August 1–26 and August 15, respectively.

New school year schedules
DepEd further states that there will be a total of 203 school days, all of which will be devoted to academics and related co-curricular activities. Extra-curricular activities are strictly prohibited.
The first quarter is scheduled to run from August 22, 2022 to November 5, 2022; the second quarter is scheduled to run from November 7, 2022 to February 3, 2023; the third quarter is scheduled to run from February to April 28, 2023; and the fourth quarter is scheduled to run from May 2 to July 7, 2023.
According to the DepEd, the Christmas break will begin on December 19, 2022, and classes will resume on January 4, 2023.A midyear break is also scheduled from February 6, 2023, to February 10, 2023.
Furthermore, remedial classes will be held from July 17, 2023, to August 26, 2023.
According to DepEd, school year 2023-2024 will be from August 28, 2023 to June 28, 2024, while school year 2024-2025 will be from August 26, 2024 to June 27, 2025.
