PHITSANULOK, Thailand. Pinay kid Louresse Joyce T. Benliro was crowned Junior Miss Saint Nicholas School English Program (SNSEP) 2022 in Phitsanulok, Thailand, in celebration of the school’s feast day, Thursday, August 11.

The 10-year old 4th grader beat other contestants, including 5th and 6th graders, in her category, making her the very first Filipino kid to win the crown in the school’s annual pageant history.

During the final question and answer portion, Louresse was asked how she could change the world to make it a better place.

The young Pinay kid beauty queen said, “Changing the world is not easy. But if I start changing myself by being a good daughter to my parents, a role model student at school, and by being kind, especially to those in need, I believe that it can resonate with other people. The more good people we have, the better this world will become.”

Aside from the crown, Louresse also won most of the contest’s minor and special awards; Best in Production Number, Best in Thai Traditional Costume, Best in Evening Gown, Best in Interview, and Miss Popular Vote.

In an interview with KKP, John Patrick Benliro, Louresse’s father, said he is super proud of his daughter.

At first, I thought she wasn’t serious when she told us that her teacher picked her to represent the class in this year’s competition. When I saw her practicing her walk at home, that’s when I knew she was really into it, so we gave her our full support, “he said.

Mary Joy Benliro, Louresse’s mother, said she was surprised at the outcome of the competition.

“I only told her to enjoy the process. But she did it and I’m very proud of her.”
