Hatyai, Thailand. A team of university students from Hatyai University, two of whom are Filipino, won the 60-second pitch at the SCG Bangkok Business Challenge held recently in Bangkok.
The siblings, Cianeread Kharen Hamsiraji and Ahmed Rauf Hamsiraji, together with their other two Thai group members, took home a cash prize of Thb 10,000.
Cianeread Kharen Hamsiraji, the team leader, told Khun Kru Pinoy the victory came as a pleasant surprise.
“I represented my team during the start-up pitch, and I stuttered so much because I was so nervous. During the question and answer part, the judges asked questions we found difficult to answer, and they gave us a lot of negative feedback,” Hamsiraji said.
“I thought our journey ended there.” When they called our team for the 60-second pitch, I tried my best to put the whole team’s best foot forward despite the pressure. Thank God we didn’t go home empty-handed.”
The SCG Bangkok Challenge is a start-up competition that aims to promote an entrepreneurial mindset among undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The winning team of the SCG Bangkok Business Challenge 2023 came from Chiang Mai University.
