The Saint Nicholas Church Foreign Community (SNCFC) in Phitsanulok asks for financial assistance for a member who needs immunotherapy treatment.

Ajarn Lloyd Canete, 52, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2021 and underwent chemotherapy for 6 months.

The tumor shrunk at the end of his treatment, but three months after, his CT scan showed some tumor in his liver and fluid in his right lung.

With this, the doctor gave him another chemotherapy, but after a month, more fluid was built up inside his right lung and the oncologist thought his cancer resisted the treatment.

Recently, Ajarn Lloyd had pleural effusion and a catheter was inserted in his pleural space for a month.

Now, the fluid is gone but more fluid is seen in his right lung. In order to have a fair prognosis, the oncologist suggested an immunotherapy for him which will cost us 78,000 baht per cycle.

As of writing, the family has not been notified about the exact number of cycles yet.

The family’s finances have run low, hence, the SNCFC community initiates fund raising campaign to aid Ajarn Loyd’s expenses.

Appeal to generous hearts

Choneth Magayon, president SNCFC said, “we knock on the generous hearts of the Filipino community in Thailand to extend a little amount for Ajarn Lloyd’s treatment.”

“The social security in Thailand does not cover special treatment such as this, so the family really needs financial assistance. Every little amount when collected will surely go a long way for the family,” she adds.
