THAILAND. Two Filipino lecturers in Thailand have just published a series of science and technology books for elementary students.
Experiments for Reinforcement Learning (Science and Technology) is a six-book series designed for Grades 1-6. The books are written by three authors, two of whom are Filipinos currently working at a university in Nakhon Si Thammarat and at a technological college in Chonburi.
The books that come in both the textbook and workbook are published by PW Publisher and are based on the Basic Education Core Curriculum, B.E. 2551.
The Authors:
Marlon D. Sipe is a university lecturer at Walailak University in Nakhon Si Thammarat province. He arrived in Thailand 16 years ago and found his first teaching job in Chonburi. He hails from Midsayap, North Cotabato in the Philippines.
Sipe earned his master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) from the International Graduate Studies at Burapha University in Chonburi, Thailand.
He finished his degree of Doctor of Communication from the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) in Laguna in 2019.
Meanwhile, Glenn Flores, who is from Naguilian, La Union, is currently teaching at Chonburi Technological College in Chonburi. He was a licensed elementary school teacher in the Philippines before moving to Thailand in 2006.
Before moving to his current job location, Flores was a STEM teacher at Prabhassom Vihhayad School in Chonburi.
